Pokémon Emerald: 386 Version

Emerald 386 Box"The Hoenn region is unstable - Rayquaza has awakened! Your skills as a Trainer will be challenged like they've never been challenged before as you try to maintain the balance between Kyogre & Groudon. Prove your skills by earning badges & gaining access to Battle Frontier - the front line of Pokémon battling that offers a whole new level of competition. Never-before-experienced battles await you!" - Game Freak

Complete DexIn this special "386 Version," You'll be able to complete your Pokédex without the need to connect with other games via wireless adaptor or game-link cable (though you totally still can). Most of the game is left as "vanilla" as possible to remain as faithful to the original release as you remember it, though some text has been modified to no longer reference "real world" locations. However, this edition does not change difficulty, sprite-work, music, evolution methods, trainer parties, running speed, rebalance moves, modify typing or introduce anything new which might "modernize" or "fix problems" with the original release!

How to Use the Patch

The ROM-hack file in the download section cannot be played by itself! It must be applied to an original, legit copy of this exact .gba rom: Pokemon - Emerald Version (USA, Europe) - I cannot tell you where or how to find that exact titled rom (it cannot be a later v1.1 revision, or any other language, etc.), but if you have a rom like this, check it using this link https://www.romhacking.net/hash, and compare the information it gives you to this info, here:

Database match: Pokemon - Emerald Version (USA, Europe)
Database: No-Intro: Game Boy Advance (v. 20210227-023848)

File/ROM CRC32: 1F1C08FB

If the information matches, then you can make the Emerald 386 ROM:

  1. Unzip the .zip file to get to the .ips file.
  2. Put the Pokémon Emerald 386.ips file and your copy of the Pokémon Emerald .gba in a folder.
  3. Apply the patch (.ips file) to the game (.gba file) using only ONE of these two options:
  4. CacneaThe file created by the patcher is the full Pokémon Emerald 386 patched game, and can now be played on your favorite GBA emulator or flashed to a cart! To be sure that the patch is applied correctly, look for a Cacnea in Prof. Birch's opening speech. Your exact current version number can be checked at the free computer on the second floor of the Devon Corporation in Rustboro City.
